The problem with dnd beyond is that it’s homebrew tools are a bit limiting, it only allows for strict raw 5e, you can’t add anything extra to your character sheet apart form boosting some stats and adding extra feats I still use it as it’s useful for your average 5e game

Initially I would've gone with the Epic Boon system outlined in the DMG but my players thought it'd be fun to pick a second class to start levelling (effectively being level 21, level 20 in 1 class and level 1 in another) something very similar to Neverwinter Nights

Anyway, the best version of a character sheet for D D 5e is the pdf exported version of the D D Beyond character sheet except for the spell sheet Some little twists and here we go with the most adaptable character sheet I saw on the entire internet (other than the versions in excel and sheets, but they follow a different philosophy)

I've been trying to join 5e campaigns with people online for awhile now, and I'm trying to use DnDbeyond because it's a really convenient tool for character creation as well as keeping track of rolls, hp, ect The problem is all the best subclasses are behind a pay wall and I don't have money to drop everytime I make a new character
