Join Date: May 2010 Posts: 21 #4 05-11-2010, 09:18 PM Cpat The CPAT is very easy I really can't see any reason why anybody couldn't pass the test in the alotted time of 10:20 It doesn't matter what time you get, as it is a pass fail test Fire departments don't get to see your times and the CPAT testing center won't give your times to them

I have a weighted vest and we have a stair master at the Y the exact same kind used for the CPAT Any ideas on how to better prepare for the stairmaster, I have tried jumping on it for 10min and starting really fast and gradually slowing down but after 3 minutes I'm shot Also does anyone know how to set the Stairmaster to the CPAT setting? Thanks Guys!!!!

The CPAT is a Physcial Test agreed upon between the IAFC the IAFF The agreed upon prep time between the two entities for the CPAT test is 5 weeks from the CPAT introduction in which they show you the video and tell you about how that particular department runs their process

The CPAT is very easy and I would suspect anyone that fails it should look for a new career I don't mean to be rude but the standard is very low and compared to other fitness evaluations, the CPAT evaluates the absolute minimum fitness level of a fire fighter candidate Last edited by jeffcollett; 04-28-2010, 12:30 AM

My CPAT will be May 5th I may not be able to attend the practice CPAT happening in April, because it conflicts with my EMT course I'm going to try to make it, but there is a good chance I won't be able to I'm looking on specific advice for how a smaller person like me should approach the CPAT

CPAT I took about 2 years ago I passed New Jersey physical, Baltimore city fire physical and Baltimore county fire physical CPAT I failed In my opinion it is very hard The stairs are the first event and it KILLS you legs I would def attempt the test and see if you pass If not if you get another CPAT, LEGS LEGS LEGS, get on a stair master and go until you are almost about to collapse and
