SBS has had ads on their service for many years now, and it's one of the attractions of broadcasters to be able to serve up targeted ads on on demand services Don't expect the popup to continue; expect the service not to work in due course if ads are blocked There are other means to get content ad-free like Netflix, Stan or Hulu

The uBlock Origin and Adguard extensions both work in blocking ads on the SBS On Demand website but the problem with uBlock Origin and Adguard is that by blocking the ads the 'watch history' refuses to sync up If you turn off uBlock Origin or Adguard than the 'watch history' sync works again but obviously at the expense of the annoying ads

An ad-free SBS On Demand is a service that I would actually pay for, if they also offered a decent bitrate resolution The content they have is fantastic, but it is frequently let down by the max 720p resolution and crappy bitrate

Any suggestions on how best to watch SBS on demand via Windows 7? I tried watching watching a show last night via Firefox and it wouldn't go above the lowest quality setting – even though my ADSL is connecting at around 4Mb s (and there was negligible other load) Can you force it to use a different quality setting?

Recently some SBS on Demand programmes have been displaying closed captions in Arabic even though I am "registered" for English I contacted SBS about this and they promptly advised that the problem is with Fetch I then tried to contact Fetch and was informed that any problems should be referred to my supplier – Optus
