John Chadwick was murdered by John McFall in Fayette county, Pennsylvania in November 1794 McFall was tried, convicted, and hanged for the murder on March 7, 1795 Col James Paull, Sheriff of Fayette county from 1793 to 1796, employed an executioner, Edward Bell, to hang McFall From an unfinished work by James Veech in 1858 but not published until 1910:
