- Is it obvious that 17 lands is magic number of lands in . . . - Reddit
The 17 lands number is determined using hypergeometric probabilities (aka calculating the likelihood an event - drawing a land - happens k times in n trials when sampling from a population without replacement) The logic is that limited decks often have most of their plays at ~3 mana, so you want to hit your 3rd land drop on t3 pretty much every game Thus you want a high probability to have
- Best way to compare 17lands data during draft : r MagicArena
I see a lot of people citing 17 lands data on cards in draft I am just wondering how everyone actually utilizes it during the draft Is it really just getting a feel for the rating of the cards? Or are you actively looking at the data while drafting? If it is the later how are you able to quickly get the information on the cards in the pack?
- Is it better to play 16 or 17 lands in Limited best of one? - Reddit
When playing without the best-of-one land rule, I've generally stuck with 17 land, 40 card decks However, since MTGA online effectively draws two starting hands for you, and gives you the one that's closest to your statistically expected number of lands (3) I have started to wonder if 16 might be better for Best of One play

- 17Lands - Reddit
Play 17 lands This number can be reduced to 16 in a deck without any creatures that cost more than 4 mana Play a low-curve Most limited decks want six or more 2 Mana-Value creatures, around four 3 Mana-Value creatures, some 4 Mana-Values creatures, and very few cards that cost 5 or more mana
- I built a draft overlay that helps you compare cards using . . . - Reddit
Thanks for the info, it's very helpful If the NEO_QuickDraft_Data json file is 1kB, then that's the reason why the cards aren't showing up That file should be >300 kB, which means that there was an issue with the download The next time NEO quick draft is back, or if you decide to play a different quick draft set, could you try re-downloading the set files to see if the file is an
