I checked with another Canvas Coach, and he and I are not aware of any setting within the normal Canvas UI (User Interface) that would allow or prevent people from utilizing the nickname field for course cards on the Dashboard

Even though Canvas for PC is only on the web, you can still open your courses straight from your desktop By creating desktop shortcuts to the browser pages, it works almost like having a desktop application - and you get to cut out the middleman

Hi @leea2 Apologies in our delayed response to your question I'd recommend double checking the quiz settings If you mistakenly click the "Do not count toward final grade" checkbox, the quiz will not display an assignment column in your course Gradebook Hopefully this helps answer your question! If the checkbox is not selected, you may need to reach out to Canvas Support for more help
