The main cert that CAL FIRE looks for is the 67 hour academy also called CAL FIRE Basic Firefighter Training, because all CAL FIRE employees are required to have this cert of be on state equipment

Also, if we are getting technical here, a Cal Fire "Firefighter 1," which is the seasonal position, is an 18 and breathing type job If you've got a pulse and a drivers license, in theory, you should be able to put in your app and have just as good of chance at getting hired as the next schmuck

I'm an out of state person with no california certs, but I am currently a full time firefighter at a career department I have my ICS 100-800, EMT, CPR, and IFSAC FF1, HazMat Ops and an A A S in fire science

I went on many fires off district we are always training when we arent out on a fire or a medical Now, I know with Cal Fire they are more set up like a city department so if thats what u are looking for Cal Fire is the way to go They actually get to do structure fires in which the forest service policy doesnt not allow that

Anyone here know about the Cal-Fire seasonal hiring process? I applied for Cal-Fire's seasonal FF1 position 2 years back and did not get picked up I only had a couple fire classes and CPR so I was not expecting to have that much of a chance that year I looked over their application form (section attached below) that listed some training courses with boxes to check for having those certs and
