- A Psychiatry residency in San Francisco (CPMC)
CPMC- good didactics academics for a small program, great faculty, very manageable call workload Small residency (which has + -'s) and patient population skews more towards the insured The graduates are well-respected
- List of strong community IM Programs | Student Doctor Network
Other than that, CPMC and SCVMC are great programs CPMC has more of a private hospital feel, while SCVMC is county Objectively, I think the two places are quite comparable overall SCVMC has a better match list, but there are issues with the program (unstable leadership, scut work, questionable teaching quality)
- Cpmc? | Student Doctor Network
You should definitely apply to CPMC! A year ago I was kind of in your shoes - I knew a lot about the other bay area programs, but hadn't heard about CPMC
- California Cardiology Fellowship Ranking. . . - Student Doctor Network . . .
Help! Of my 15 Cardiology Fellowship interviews, 5 were in California How would you rank these programs: Scripps Green, CPMC, UCLA Harbor, USC and Kaiser LA Any insight into these programs would be super helpful
- Advice sought: OHSU vs. CPMC | Student Doctor Network
CPMC is by no means a weak programme either, they consistently fill with American medical graduates from top 10 medical schools, and boasts a 1-to-1 facutly-to-resident ratio with particular strength in psychotherapy training SF's patient base is more ethnically diverse than that of Portland
- San Francisco Residencies | Student Doctor Network
CPMC is the other SF program and is much smaller (4 residents per year) and as a non-academic program is less competitive Historically it has been very psychodynamically oriented but is moving away from that (similarly, UCSF has also moved away from being as psychotherapy heavy)
- California Pacific Medical Center | Student Doctor Network
The most unique thing about CPMC is the staggered start One resident starts 7 1, the next 11 1, and the next 3 1 The residents I talked to really liked this setup The program will pay you a PGY-2 salary to do research or even to go internationally and do missions work as long as you associate it with a research project

Thanks! CPMC is a solid program In cali, it's equivalent to Cedars Sinai in SoCal -- as an academic institution disguised as a community program CPMC is known, even in my neck of the woods so-to-speak I believe many of the attendings at CPMC have faculty positions at Stanford or UCSF, one more than the other
