Hello Susp3ct, As you've noted, without access to your original mobile device and not being able to log into myGov you can't unlink the old mobile device to use the myGov app either You can use the myGovID app to access your myGov account To do this you will need to make sure you set up the myGovID app with the original registered email address

I have this issue EVERY time I try to use login to MyGov It is so frustrating totally unacceptable at any time, let alone 2025 when it has not been fixed for years! I don't want to and shouldn't have to go through the interminable pain of setting-up a new account and especially when it won't solve the MyGov tech problem! It is just so unfair!!!

Hi @rg1208 @lifesaver38, This is a known issue with myGov, not with ATO systems We've passed on details to them about the issue while we wait for a fix

If you've set up a myGovID you will need to login using the digital identity login options for myGov, not using your email password To try I would recommend using the my gov au website when logging in scroll down the page to find the digital identity login option and follow the prompts via that option

I tried logging in to myGov using just my username and password instead of myGovID, but it won't let me access the ATO using this authentication method because it's "less secure" than the method I was using previously

myGov app which should then provide you with a means to access myGov app | myGov myGovID app and verify your identity to Standard with two Australian identity documents Home | myGovID One or both of these options should hopefully prevent you needing to call the myGov support line
