We used to always get the ATT T cruise pkg Recently off Explorer only having the Voom Surf-n-Stream and easily put my iPhone on air plane mode and used wifi calling for texts Worked out well
- AT T cruise package versus Carnival Wifi
I am trying to decide between getting AT T's cruise package or Carnival's Wi-Fi plan After talking to an AT T rep over chat, it sounds like the AT T package is only good for talk and text at sea, but if I want to go to CNN and read an article, or check the weather, I have to use Carn
- Has anyone tried the AT T sail and stay connected plan?
Not sure how that would work? Doest ATT pay the cruise lines to use their on board sat system for calls? Or, is that just the charge ATT would issue, and Royal would add an additional per minute charge? They use the satellite and an onboard microcell Unlimited Talk and Text means exactly that Only a limited amout of data is included

From what I can tell the ships internet access is over $300 so we definitely aren't doing that 🙂 Just wondered if there was a cheaper way than spending $50 for at t plan The 50 cents per text will add up fast Thanks for your help Hmm, $300 for wifi access for everyone versus $50 per person x 8 people = $400 for ATT plan

We left ATT about 5 years ago for T Mobile, the prices are significantly better, especially for seniors and Veterans Far superior overall service for world travelers

On other ocean cruises, we all usually turn on airplane mode, a few will pay for the cruise ship's wifi But just wondering if there's good TMobile, Verizon, or ATT 5G voice, data, texts service avail during the entire Alaska inside passage route, while underway cruising, besides on docking days in port cities
