That happens with Android, too, but there's an expectation of longer legacy support — I'm still running Garmin Pilot in my plane on a Nexus 7 tablet (released 2013) running Android 6 (2015) It's a bit slow starting up — no surprise for a tablet that retailed for $100 7 years ago — but it still does OK
