I used Orbitz today for the first time in order to book a hotel room in June I got an email confirmation with an Orbitz Reference Number and it also includes a Hotel Confirmation Number That's all nice and good but my reservation isn't showing up in my My Trips I did call Orbitz to confirm and they were able to confirm the reservation

Orbitz is orbitz b ecause orbitz is smart their people are a different breed of cat than the idiots at airline and hotel sites (UA starwood for example) Their approach to customer service leaves more to be desired than their -- at least "historical" -- approach to technology, right?

Does anyone use Orbitz for car rentals? Is Orbitz relevant these days? I use Orbitz to compare car rental rates when I'm flying into a particular city on a specific date Then, once I figure out who has, what appears to be the least expensive rate, I go directly to that website (but visit a second or third specific car rental website, as well)

Orbitz is essentially a distribution channel for the airline--the contract of carriage still applies Then apparently the airlines are full of it, because that is what has happened to me, even as an elite, on more than one occasion with different carriers Therefore, I do not buy from third-party booking companies anymore
