The 327 is pretty much a 30 Carbine round with a skinnier case and a rim added It is my EDC round in a nice little J-frame sized Taurus 327 When it sends 100 grains out the muzzle at 1300 fps, that little revolver will get the attention of whatever it is fired at for certain, and everyone around as well as 45k psi makes quite a boom

Unfortunately, in addition to having just blown a load on other things, I don't see how I can justify a SP101 in 327 FedMag when I already own the S W 632-1 in 327 FedMag, and a DW 32M in 327 FedMag At least the DW has 4 and 8 inch barrels, kind of an odd creature but the SP101 would just be almost identical to the S W except over $500

I also have a 327 SP and love the cartridge, too Ammo availability seems to be keeping the 327 from becoming more popular, though I've had no problems, so far I've even been considering having a custom barrel in 327 made for my Contender, but I'm a little hesitant to spend the cash until I'm satisfied the 327 won't disappear in a few years

Yes, with the 327, you can also load with 32H R, 32SW short and 32SW long The latter two are anemic defensive rounds Supplies of the 327 fed mag and 32H R is sparse and it ain't cheap when you do find it Personally, I find the 327 fed mag downright painful to shoot from the LCR The 32H R has much less recoil and is more pleasant

Hi all Somewhere in a thread, not sure this forum or another one, somebody asked about using a 327 Federal Magnum for home self-defense I own 2 GP100s in 327 FM, and with the velocity of the cartridge it was pretty much decided that the 327 is not safe to shoot in one's house

The other, main reason is the 327 Mag seems like it has HUGE potential as a HD and CCW round, as well as being a sweet shooter I don't know if it's the acoustics of my backyard, which faces a small mountain, but 22 LR's seem much louder then the 32 Long WC's and 32 H R Cowboy rounds I fire back there in my Nagant revolvers

My one and only 327FM my Ruger SP101 3 inch So I am a bit wondering if I really need another 327 unless I opt to get a Ruger Single Seven that one might come first With 2 lever action 357's BTW to the OP nice right up sorry about your key board!!! I just talked to Ruger They do now have the re-engineered cylinder, and the SP101 327 is back in production I will be sending mine back tommorrow, and I will ask for either a new SP101 327 or the replacement cylinder, whichever is faster The customer rep indicated it would be only about 2 weeks
