Greetings, I've been using CCleaner from time to time and was wondering if this is a good idea in terms of privacy and the health of my PC I've found mixed advice on CCleaner, some appraising as a wonderful piece of software and others downright calling it malware

Both CCleaner and the Windows Disk Cleanup utility remove these files when asked to do so by the user However, these temporary internet files etc , are also stored in a Index Dat file Assuming you have cleared out all of the temporary internet files and history folders using Disk Cleanup

Is it a continuing problem or did reinstalling the latest version of cCleaner resolve the problem? I cannot speak for Microsoft but the registry cleaner is considered by many experienced users to be an undesirable component!

I have used the free versions of Malwarebytes, and CCleaner for years from Windows XP to Windows 10 Malwarebytes has saved my computer so many times where Windows Defender has not found malware
