- Can someone explain the point of phoniex flames please?
Hey everyone, So I have a question about fire mage and when to use phoniex flames I know it spreads ignite but in most AoE you’d likely be using flame strike which applies ignite anyway right? Assuming I’m right about that, I’m not sure when you’d want to use phoniex flames aside from maybe only a fighting 2 mobs? So when do you want to use it? Thanks

Phoenix Flames not spreading ignite is kinda awful It forces you to use a rotational (fire blast) to spread your ignite during a major CD I personally think PF being the spread is totally viable, I use it pretty openly to spread ignite outside of my combust, so having the only way to spread now being attached to my FB just feels awful

Is Phoenix Flames always a dps loss? I simmed it and it only coes out about 100 dps less It seems having 3 spell casts that always crit and do decent damage would be a good thing

First, phoenix flames is still in the game and until this is removed the spec will never feel good just like SKB slowed down fire The issue is also that you do zero damage outside of combustion The whole loop of fire isn’t satisfying at all So much feedback has been given and all they do is tune numbers

Unlike every other spell, Phoenix Flames, while being an instant cast, seems to have a certain “delay” to be cast, but it’s not that, it just doesn’t feel as responsive as every other instant cast Might have something to do with my minimum ms always being 210?

Graphically and in terms of combat log events, Phoenix Flames actually lands much closer to Fireball than Pyroblast (which is rather noticeably slower than Fireball) does Try it yourself, at 40y shoot a Fireball and instant Pyro, and observe travel speed and impact interval, then do the same with Fireball and Phoenix Flames
