- Do you carve and ski? Looking for boots advise. .
I mainly alpine ski with some really old Nordica ski boots that should be retired (I like skiing and should get some new, modern alpine ski boots) My daily driver alpine snowboard boots are Deeluxe 700 (size 27) with blue spring BTS I also sometimes alpine ski using my Alpine Touring boots, which I mainly use for splitboarding
- Change my mind: Softboot carving is an endless string of compromises to . . .
Alpine snowboarding is a compromise too All setups have a sweet spot When it comes to carving turns on groomers, an alpine setup is in its sweet spot, and you can get setups that push the limits all the way to world cup and Olympic levels of racing performance The compromise is that these setups are good for little else

- What happens in a carved turn on firm (not pow) snow
Balanced carving turns in alpine skiing by Serguei S Komissarov Bits that I found most interesting on the first reading: I have so many questions about that Is this why some boards are made with sidecuts that tighten up in the back half? And, how soft does the snow need to be before the back half of the board doesn't even matter?
- Should snowboard racing have weight classes - AlpineSnowboarder
I think there simply aren't enough participants in Alpine Skiing and certainly not enough in Alpine Snowboarding to go to this level of granularity Lighter racers have had success, as previously mentioned Extra weight carries some disadvantages, especially in more turny technical courses with fewer glide zones
- Stance Width vs Perception of Board Stiffness
For me, a wider stance feels like a more stable and controlled means of bending the board; a wider stance, with deeper knee bend, affords more fore aft leverage from the (hard) boot over the board, and more stance stability to drive turns and angulate more aggressively
- Is it possible to use alpine ski boots for all mountain riding on a . . .
Hey guys, I wanted to know if it there were any alpine ski boots that work well for snowboarding or if there was a way to mod them to work as such I've used standard snowboard boots my whole life and I just love riding everywhere on the mountain I would really love to be able to get somewhat close to that using a ski boot
- Moving to Denver… season pass recommendations?
I started skiing at Loveland in about 1969 As Mario said it was the blue collar ski area closest to Denver When I really got a treat I was able to ski at Vail (now Epic) I thought Vail was nirvana Fast forward to today I buy a mid-week Loveland pass (retired) I still meet my college buddies once a year at Vail
