- Convert month name to mmm (3-letter abbreviation)
I have a column of data which contains the month calls were received It is the full name I am unable to get Excel to recognize this data as being a month (in cell format I have tried any of the Date format as well as Custom mmmm and Custom mmm) I will be Pivoting the data and want it to behave like months (group into quarters, etc ) Thank you

That assumes real dates dates in column C Real dates will change when you change the cell format mask from dd mm yyyy to mmm-yy If they won't change then select all of column C and run Data, Text to columns, Delimited,
